Ginny Ruffner

Ginny Ruffner Interview at Hawk Galleries

Ginny Ruffner was born in Atlanta in 1952 and received both her BFA and MFA from the University of Georgia in 1974 and 1975 in drawing and painting.

Ginny Ruffner began working with glass in 1977 and has continued to the present day, incorporating metal and other media. Ruffner's sculptures are part science and part fantasy. Ginny’s interest in science comes from her life-long curiosity about how things work. Her artwork emerges from what she reads about origins and evolutions of life on Earth, as well as her own theories that explain the mysteries of science. This translates, along with her fascination with beauty, into creations all her own.
